RETURN & REFUND POLICY
We want customers to be confident when purchasing furniture from Cartesian Furniture. Because our merchandise ranges from small-parcel items to large furniture delivered by freight carrier, return procedures may vary depending on the reason for the return and the delivery method.
28-DAY RETURN WINDOW
We accept eligible return requests made within 28 days after delivery.
For customer-choice returns, merchandise must be unused, unassembled, in the same condition in which it was received, and returned with all original parts, hardware, accessories, instructions, and packaging.
Merchandise that has been assembled, modified, used, damaged after delivery, or inadequately repackaged may not qualify for a customer-choice return.
These condition requirements do not prevent us from reviewing legitimate claims involving damage, defects, incorrect merchandise, or other seller-related issues.
RETURN AUTHORIZATION AND RMA
All returns require prior authorization.
To request a return, contact us at info@cartesianfurniture.com. If the return is approved, we will provide a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and instructions explaining how and where the merchandise must be returned.
The return destination may vary depending on the product and fulfillment location. Please do not ship merchandise to our warehouse or to any other location without first receiving return authorization and instructions from us.
Merchandise returned without prior authorization or without following the provided return instructions may be refused or may experience a delay in processing.
DAMAGED, DEFECTIVE, OR INCORRECT MERCHANDISE
Please inspect your order promptly after delivery.
If an item arrives damaged, defective, missing components, or materially different from the merchandise ordered, please contact us as soon as possible and preferably within 72 hours of delivery. We may request photographs of the merchandise, packaging, shipping labels, delivery paperwork, or other information reasonably necessary to evaluate the issue.
When an issue can reasonably be corrected with replacement parts, we will make every reasonable effort to provide the required replacement parts at no cost to the customer.
For furniture, replacement components are often the fastest and safest way to correct an issue without subjecting the complete item to additional transportation and handling.
If replacement parts are unavailable, would not reasonably restore the merchandise to the condition in which it should have been delivered, or we determine that a full return is appropriate, Cartesian Furniture will provide or arrange the applicable return transportation at our expense.
For ground shipments, this may include a prepaid return label or carrier pickup instructions. For freight merchandise, we may arrange a freight carrier pickup.
When return transportation is provided by us, the customer is responsible for properly repackaging the merchandise and making the shipment reasonably accessible to the designated ground or freight carrier according to the return instructions provided.
WHEN REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE
If appropriate replacement parts are available and can reasonably correct reported shipping damage, a defect, a missing component, or another issue, we will offer those parts as the first resolution.
If a customer declines an appropriate replacement-part resolution and instead elects to return merchandise that could reasonably have been restored through the supplied replacement parts, the return may be treated as a customer-choice return.
In that situation, the customer will be responsible for return transportation costs and the 25% restocking fee described below.
This provision does not apply where replacement parts would not reasonably correct the reported problem or restore the merchandise to the condition in which it should have been delivered.
FREIGHT DELIVERY INSPECTION
Customers receiving furniture by freight carrier should inspect the shipment and packaging at the time of delivery whenever reasonably possible.
Visible carton damage, punctures, crushed packaging, shortages, broken packaging, or other visible irregularities should be noted on the freight carrier's delivery receipt before the customer signs for the shipment.
Photographs of the packaging and merchandise should also be taken whenever visible damage is present.
Please contact Cartesian Furniture promptly when freight damage is discovered.
Failure to note visible damage on the carrier's delivery documentation may limit our ability to pursue a transportation claim with the freight carrier and may affect the available resolution. However, concealed damage or other legitimate issues will be reviewed based on the circumstances and available documentation.
Please retain the original packaging while a damage claim, replacement-part request, or return request is being evaluated.
CUSTOMER-CHOICE AND BUYER'S-REMORSE RETURNS
A return is considered a customer-choice or buyer's-remorse return when the merchandise was delivered as ordered and the return is not caused by qualifying shipping damage, a product defect, an incorrect item, or another seller error.
Examples include changing your mind, no longer wanting or needing the product, ordering the wrong size, the merchandise not fitting the intended space, preferring another style or finish, or deciding that the merchandise does not meet a personal preference.
For customer-choice and buyer's-remorse returns, the customer is responsible for all return transportation costs.
A 25% restocking fee will also be deducted from the merchandise refund for customer-choice and buyer's-remorse returns.
Return transportation for furniture and oversized merchandise can be substantial. Customers are encouraged to carefully review product dimensions, specifications, materials, colors, finishes, delivery requirements, and product descriptions before placing an order.
PRODUCT IMAGES, COLORS, FINISHES, AND NATURAL VARIATIONS
We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate photographs, descriptions, dimensions, colors, materials, and specifications using information supplied or verified by our manufacturers and vendors.
The appearance of colors, fabrics, wood grains, stone patterns, finishes, and other materials can vary because of photography, lighting, computer or mobile device display settings, manufacturing variations, and the natural characteristics of certain materials.
A reasonable color, grain, finish, texture, or appearance variation that remains consistent with the manufacturer's specifications is not considered a product defect.
Returns based solely on personal expectations regarding color, finish, appearance, or how the product looks in a particular room or on a particular display are treated as customer-choice returns.
If merchandise is materially different from the advertised product, specifications, or item ordered, please contact us so that we can review the matter as an incorrect or defective merchandise claim.
INCORRECT ADDRESS, TELEPHONE NUMBER, OR DELIVERY INFORMATION
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address and a valid telephone number when placing an order.
A valid telephone number is particularly important for freight shipments because freight carriers generally need to contact the customer to schedule a delivery appointment.
If a shipment cannot be delivered or is returned because the customer provided an incorrect or incomplete address, an incorrect or non-working telephone number, or other inaccurate delivery information, the return will generally be treated as a customer-responsibility return.
A 25% restocking fee and any actual carrier charges incurred because of the incorrect information, including return transportation, storage, address-correction, or redelivery charges, may be deducted from the refund.
FREIGHT DELIVERY APPOINTMENTS
Customers receiving scheduled freight delivery are responsible for responding to reasonable carrier attempts to arrange delivery and for being available for an agreed delivery appointment.
If merchandise is returned because the freight carrier cannot contact the customer after reasonable attempts, the customer fails to attend a scheduled delivery appointment, or delivery cannot be completed because of circumstances within the customer's control, the shipment may be treated as a customer-choice return.
A 25% restocking fee and applicable actual return freight, redelivery, storage, or other carrier charges may be deducted from the refund.
REFUSED DELIVERIES
Customers should not refuse delivery merely because they have changed their mind or no longer want the merchandise.
An order refused while in transit or at delivery for reasons unrelated to documented shipping damage, seller error, or another authorized reason will be treated as a customer-choice return.
Such returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee plus applicable actual return transportation and carrier charges.
If substantial visible freight damage is present at delivery, document the damage on the freight carrier's delivery receipt and contact us promptly for assistance.
RETURN TRANSPORTATION
For qualifying returns resulting from seller error, incorrect merchandise, qualifying shipping damage, or a qualifying defect that cannot reasonably be resolved through replacement parts, Cartesian Furniture will provide or arrange the applicable return transportation.
For customer-choice or buyer's-remorse returns, the customer is responsible for return transportation.
If Cartesian Furniture arranges transportation on the customer's behalf for a customer-choice return, the actual return transportation charge may be deducted from the refund.
RETURN PACKAGING
Returned merchandise must be packaged securely enough to reasonably protect it during transportation and must include all components, parts, hardware, accessories, instructions, and other materials supplied with the product.
The customer may be responsible for damage or loss in value caused during return transportation when merchandise was inadequately packaged or improperly prepared for shipment.
EXCHANGES
We do not offer direct product exchanges.
If an eligible customer wishes to purchase a different product, the original merchandise must be returned according to this policy and a separate order may be placed for the desired product.
Replacement parts provided to correct damage, defects, or missing components are not considered exchanges.
NON-RETURNABLE MERCHANDISE
Mattresses, custom or special-order merchandise, personalized items, gift cards, and products specifically identified as final sale or non-returnable at the time of purchase are not eligible for customer-choice returns.
Please contact us before purchasing if you have questions about whether a specific item is returnable.
REFUNDS
After an authorized return has been received and inspected, we will notify you regarding approval of the refund.
Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 10 calendar days after the returned merchandise has been received, inspected, and the refund has been approved.
Your bank, credit card issuer, or payment provider may require additional time to post the credit after we have processed the refund.
Applicable customer-responsibility return transportation charges, the 25% restocking fee, and other deductions specifically described in this policy will be deducted from the refund where applicable.
Optional delivery-service upgrades purchased by the customer, including Room of Choice delivery, Inside Delivery and Setup, or Inside Delivery and Packaging Removal, are not refundable after the applicable service has been performed.
Nothing in this policy is intended to limit any consumer rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited or waived under applicable law.
